Sex & God & Rock & Roll
OK, dammit! finally some Friday music that I really like, and the info is in RUSSIAN........who is this guy?Help!nij
It's Leonard Cohen, singing in Russian! :-)I can tell the second two songs ("Suzanne" and "Hallelujah"), but my Russian is too far gone (and LC ignorance too great) for the first.
Сестры Милосердия"Sestri Milocerdia": does that help anybody?
I reckon it will probably make more sense to me after a few beers. Very soothing though.
Isn't Leonard Cohen in Russian just a tad ..depressing? Or was ithwhatthey usedto use in the Lubyanka to break spies?
I recognize that first tune but I can't place the words or title. Sorry.wv=distrami
"Sisters of Mercy" - Leonard Cohen. (Google translate is my friend.)"Oh, the Sisters of Mercy, they are not departed or gone..."
The tune may be Suzanne but I believe he is singing about the siege of Leningrad...and the first one was about the wheat harvest.
My goodness. When did he do this?
This is where you can get italso on iTunes and Amazonwww.cdbaby.com/cd/mikhailrykov
